Where can I get information on having F.D.M.T. at my event?

Please send us a message using the ‘contact’ link on the bottom of this page. An F.D.M.T. representative will contact you.

I cancelled a fire alarm but the fire department still responded. Why?

Once an alarm is transmitted, the fire department is required to respond. Even though it may seem unnecessary, we must verify the reason for the alarm and confirm that there are no other possible causes. This is for the safety of both you and your property.

Is somebody always at the firehouse?

Typically you will find members in one of our firehouses at all times of day and night. However, as volunteers, there may be times when the firehouses are unoccupied until an alarm comes in.

F.D.M.T. is a combination department. What does that mean?

A combination department is, quite simply, one that utilizes both paid and volunteer firefighters. Combination departments are becoming the norm nationwide in municipalities like Montgomery Township as volunteer numbers decline and existing volunteers face more demands on their time from other obligations.

I'd like to join, but I don't want to be a firefighter. Is there another way I can help?

Of course there is! Fire Police are needed in addition to those experienced in fields like record-keeping, accounting, information technology, and public relations. Each profession can be a valuable asset to F.D.M.T.
