"SQUAD 18 RESPONDING..."

- After weeks of preparation, the new Squad 18 is now on the job.
Designed to F.D.M.T and Department of Fire Services specifications, the new
Squad has a 500 gallon water tank, 400 horsepower motor, 1500
feet of 5" hose, Will-Burt Light Tower, (2) 1 3/4" preconnects
and (1) 2 1/2" preconnect. The new Squad 18
also has a full complement of rescue tools including Paratech
struts.
The existing Squad 18 has become Engine 18 and now responds from
Battalion 2 at Route 202 and Montgomery Avenue. Engine 18-1, previously
located at Battalion 2, has been placed in reserve status and will respond from
Battalion 1.
