LOWER GWYNEDD HOME DAMAGED IN AFTERNOON BLAZE

(2/5/07 - Lower Gwynedd Twp.) Station 18 units swung into action on a clear cold Monday afternoon after fire was reported at a home under renovation at 529 Plymouth Road.

It was just after lunchtime when 18 was dispatched to assist North Penn Fire Company at the blaze.  Squad 62 was first on location and reported heavy fire on the first floor.

Crews from Ladder and Rescue 18 assisted along with units from Center Square, Wissahickon, Worcester, and Upper Gwynedd.

Arriving units made a quick knock on the fire which heavily damaged the homes basement and the exterior of the upper levels.

There were no injuries, and the owners were not home at the time.  However, two pets inside did manage to safely escape the flames.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
