Alarm time: 14:18
Last unit cleared: 19:32

(12/23/07 - Montgomery Township)
- One person was injured after fire tore through the first floor
of a townhouse just two days before Christmas. FDMT was
dispatched at 2:18pm with a report that a Christmas tree was on
fire inside the home at 402 Lennox Court. Dispatchers
reported that the caller started coughing and then did not
return to the phone.
Engine 18 was first on scene and
reported heavy fire from the rear of the home. The Engine
laid in and immediately went into service with an 1 3/4"
handline and was followed by Squad 12 which stretched the backup
line.
Firefighters inside encountered heavy fire on the first floor
and had it under control within approximately 30 minutes as
Ladder 18 opened up the building and went to work on salvage and
overhaul to check for extension.
Due to the quick work of the
firefighters, there was no extension to any of the adjoining
homes. The homeowner was transported by the Volunteer
Medical Service Corps for treatment of smoke inhalation.

FDMT was assisted on the call by
units from Station 12 (Colmar Fire Company), Bucks County
Station 60 (Hilltown), Bucks County Station 29 (Warrington)
Bucks County Station 74 (Chalfont), Station 62 (North Penn),
Station 345 (VMSC), and Station 15 (Horsham).
The cause of the fire remains under
investigation by the Montgomery Township Fire Marshal's Office.
