WORKIN' AT THE CAR WASH...
(10/24/07 - Montgomery Township)
- The driver of an SUV was lucky to escape injury after crashing
the vehicle into the side of the 309 Car Wash at Route 309 and
North Wales Road.
F.D.M.T. was dispatched
at 7:00pm and arrived quickly to find the nose of the truck buried inside
the waiting area of the car wash, where it narrowly missed
hitting customers and employees inside.
Reports indicate the
vehicle was traveling southbound on Route 309 when the brakes
failed, causing the driver to cross over the northbound lanes
and into the car wash parking lot where he made a U-turn and
struck the side of the building.
Several firefighters
stabilized the vehicle and cleared debris while others went to
work constructing vertical shoring to guard against structural
collapse. Station 62 (North Penn Fire Company) assisted on
the call.
